TERRY STEELE (Lead Vocalist, Co-Producer, and Playwright) is a Grammy nominated singer and songwriter whose career has crossed musical boundaries and international borders.  His songs have sold millions of copies and have touched the heart and soul of millions of people around the world.  Steele has written for or collaborated with megastar stars such as Whitney Houston, Dionne Warwick, Patti Labelle, Stevie Wonder, Diana Ross, The Spinners, Barry White, The Pointer Sisters, Arif Mardin, David Kershenbaum, George Duke, and saxophonist Richard Elliott.   As the principal writer of the blockbuster hit, Here And Now, Steele garnered a Grammy nomination for “Best Rhythm and Blues Song” in 1990.  That same year, his composition won Luther Vandross his then first Grammy in the "Best R&B Male Vocal Performance" category. Steele has previously held staff writing positions at EMI Music/SBK Records, Warner Chappell Music, and most recently, the Germany-based music publishing house, CBM Entertainment and Sony Music (South Africa).  Steele has recorded three internationally released solo albums and has recorded five albums as lead singer for the renowned Jazz-fusion band Hiroshima.  His voice-over credits include HBO's animated series Happily Ever After, Pepsi commercials, and C-Span's 911 Tribute.  Steele has commanded the worldwide stage with leading rolls in the theatrical dance-play, Things Ain't What They Used To Be (Russia), The Names Quilt (USA), The Living Legends Concert Series (Europe), and now he takes his first leap into the starring role in the off-Broadway production, Here And Now...The Legacy of Luther Vandross.  Additionally, Steele is currently authoring his first non-fiction book entitled, The Chronicles Of A Songwriter.

 
JAMES “KIMO” CORNWELL (Musical Director/Keyboards) fondly known as “Kimo” which means “James” in Hawaiian, was born in Honolulu. Blessed with the love of music, he began his classical studies at age eight.  While studying, he slowly started to discover the world of jazz, rock, and R&B. Kimo is renowned as one of the best contemporary keyboard players to come out of the islands. His many credits include performing and/or recording with such diverse artists as Cheryl Lynn, Ronnie Laws, Al Jarreau, Frankie Beverly and Maze, John Klemmer, Rick Springfield, Julio Iglesias, Howard Hewitt, Shari Belafonte, Hubert Laws, Peter White, Charo, Michael Paulo, Pauline Wilson (Seawind), Don Ho, and Kalapana just to name a few. Kimo has also been involved with writing and performing music for several TV movies, cooking shows, and film documentaries. He has been one of the principals and heart and soul of the Los Angeles-based group, Hiroshima, as keyboardist, composer, arranger, and co-producer.
 

KIM HANSEN (Keyboards) is a talented musician, arranger, producer, composer and studio engineer from Denmark. He studied jazz piano with pianist Bent Axen and conductor Sven Skipper. Kim began touring at age 14 and went on to tour with many top bands from Denmark and Scandinavia.  He co-wrote, arranged and played piano on Goodbye for Kci & Jojo’s latest album and arranged strings for Jesse Powell’s Christmas album.  He composed Martini Beach for Bamboo Forest’s ‘Passion in Paradise’ and Her World for Steve Reid’s ‘Dreamscapes.’ Kim toured and recorded with African artist Prince Eyango, performed with Bebe Winans on The Tonight Show, and can be heard on smooth-jazz artist James Gabriano’s new album.  He wrote arrangements and is featured on keyboard and synth solos, on bassist Sekou Bunch’s upcoming album with jazz-superstars George Duke, Herbie Hancock, Marcus Miller and Stanley Clarke.  Kim is a member of Ricky Lawson’s, Bobby Lyle’s, Everette Harp’s, and Deniece Williams’ bands, and Musical Director for Michael Lington and Maxine Nightingale for whom he is producing an album.

 

DWAYNE “SMITTY” SMITH (Bassist) was born in Washington, D.C. He has toured and recorded with and continues to work with such  artists as, Anita Baker, Will Downing, Gerald Albright, Boney James, Brenda Russell,  Natalie Cole, The Isley Brothers, Ledicy, Maysa Leak , and many others. Smitty recorded on TV shows such as Sister Sister, South Central, Matt Waters, and Soul Food.  Stage Play work includes The Legend, Love In  All The Wrong faces, The last 3 Standing and movie productions (“Ali”). Smitty launched his debut solo project in August 2005, a multi-stylistic CD, “This Is Me.  He is currently juggling tour dates with Rachelle Farrell, the Guitars and Saxes Smooth Jazz All-Stars (Gerald Albright, Jeff Lorber, Jeff Golub, Peter White), Terry Steele, and Jonathan Butler…..”How Does He Do It”

SERGIO GONZALES (Drums / Percussions) has played with numerous groups throughout his musical career, providing the backdrop beat so important to today’s modern sound. His vast range of experience from World music,  Jazz,  R&B,Rock, and Latin meld together to create his unique and personal style and groove. Simply said, Sergio likes to hit things.  A professional “hitman” if you will, but he hits them in such an extraordinary way, that it has allowed him to perform all over the world, twice over!  He has performed privately for the Queen of England and the Sultan of Brunei.  He has been on the Grammys, countless TV Shows and movies, most recently “Bringin’  Down the House” with Queen Latifah and Steve Martin.  If Sergio is recording a record with Keb Mo, or playing on Sat Night Live with Jennifer Lopez, or recording with Gavin Degraw for a Queen Tribute record, you can bet his friends had something to do with it.   Sergio continues to make his mark in the music industry. He recently had the honor of working with John Powell on the Oscar award winning movie “Happy Feet”, and recording on “Keb Mo’s” new release “Suitcase”. He’s also started a new record with Gavin Degraw and Carlos Santana’s son Salvador.  He has recently expanded his talents by writing music for “Felicity” and various TV Commercials.

 
PATTIE HOWARD (Featured Vocalist / Vocal Coordinator) was born in Cleveland Ohio.  She began studying violin at age seven, and wrote her first award winning composition in the Cleveland public school citywide classical music competition.   Pattie recorded her first song at age 13 as lead singer in the gospel group "All God's Children" and began singing professionally at age 17, traveling world wide with various artist.  She began writing out of her fascination with the Fairlight and DX7. She went on to write, arrange and produce her second CD. The Vision,  on Light Records, legendary label that was home to gospel greats Andrae Crouch, The Winans, Commissioned, Kurt Carr Singers, Walter Hawkins, Edwin Hawkins, and many others. Her most recent production and release is "Piano Lady" by Ruth Ann Galatas, a classical pianist on Warner/Rimsky label. Pattie Howard is a skillful and well rounded Artist, Producer, and Songwriter. A seasoned performer, she has worked with major artists world wide and is the familiar face seen as a supporting vocalist with legendary singers, Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Glady's Knight, Andrae Crouch, and so many others.
 
TACHINA DANIELLE (Vocalist) began singing in her church choir, on radio, television and in musical theater at a very early age.  She has performed with such artists as George Duke, Phillip Bailey, Michael Cooper, Yolanda Adams, Hezekiah Walker, Commissioned, Tremaine Hawkins, John P. Kee, Karen Clark-Sheard, Kim Burrell, Kenny Lattimore, Chante Moore, and production team of Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy, Swing out Sister, Dwayne Wiggins Tony!Toni!Tone! and many more. She was cast in a principal role and toured with the National Musical Stage play "Casino" with Gerald LeVert, Kelly Price, and Don "DC" Curry; currently tours Internationally as a lead vocalist with Gospel Legend Andrae Crouch; and appeared on a Nationally Televised "Feed The Children" program as a lead and background for Andrae Crouch, Natalie Cole, Walter Hawkins, and Yolanda Adams. Recently she was featured as the “Spotlight” artist on the Bobby Jones Gospel countdown radio show where her single “Get Behind Me” received rave reviews, so much so that it was added onto the countdown at #18; She was  featured as the “Spotlight” artist on the Rick Joyner show, SGN The Light Gospel radio.
 
SHEKINAH DURST (Vocalist) is an experienced singer and performer. Her first professional appearance was at age 8 in the “Tomorrow” music video with Tevin Campbell.  Her performance and recording credits include, Quincy Jones, Michael Jackson, Tevin Campbell, Tata Vega, MC Hammer, to name a few.  A professional supporting vocalist in Los Angeles, as well as a songwriter, Shekinah Durst A.K.A Shay has been involved with major recording projects and continues to pursue her career as a solo artist and songwriter, currently in development with producer Keith Crouch.  Her T.V. and film credits include MTV, VH1, BET, Quincy Jones “Back On The Block”, Hammer “Pray” video.
 
COLLETTE AIN WILLIAMS (Dancer) is a native of New Orleans, currently living in Los Angeles.  She is a performer, choreographer and teacher.  Collette is a member of The Lula Washington Dance Theater, JazzAntiqua Dance & Music Ensemble and a guest performer with The Lula Elzy Dance Theater of New Orleans.  She was a featured dancer in the blockbuster films “Ray” and “Something New” and has received honors from the NAACP and The National Arts Foundation
 

KEISHA CLARK-BOOTH (Dancer) was born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey.  She dances professionally with JazzAntiqua Dance & Music Ensemble under the direction of Pat Taylor.  Keisha is a dance professor and lecturer at various community colleges and high schools in Southern California.  Her credits include performances with H2O Entertainment Artist Waterfront Harmony, Hampton University’s Ebony Fire, Delta Novè and many others.

 

ALVON REED (Dancer), a native of Los Angeles, began dancing his senior year in high school.  He attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA where he received a degree in Spanish Language and Literature.  As a student at the Ailey School, Alvon studied with some of New York's top choreographers and performed the Alvin Ailey ballet "Memoria."  Alvon has toured Hawaii and the Caribbean with Norwegian Cruise Lines and Norwegian Cruise Lines America.  He is in his first season with Jazzantiqua Dance & Music Ensemble.

 

PAT TAYLOR (Choreographer) is a Los Angeles native.  Taylor is the recipient of numerous choreography awards including a Brody Arts Fellowship and grants from the Doolittle Foundation and California Arts Council. Selected by the Los Angeles Times' -Year in Review- for "Outstanding Choreographic Achievement," she has also been nominated for four Lester Horton Dance Awards.  Taylor has choreographed and performed throughout the United States and Europe and is the artistic director of JazzAntiqua Dance & Music Ensemble.  Her work has been presented at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Luckman Fine Arts Complex, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Jazz Bakery, City Center (New York), and many other prestigious venues.

 

LESLIE CHEW (Tech Director/Sound Designer), creates a safe and constructive atmosphere for every project to come into its own.  This is the core of Leslie's philosophy. It's what keeps artists coming back again & again. As the engineer behind the recording and mixing controls for many artists, Leslie's client history ranges from Roberta Flack and Todd Rundgren to new R&B sensation Terry Steele and the legendary Hiroshima. His music for television recording and mixing credits include "Survivor", "Fear Factor", "Boy Meets World" and Disney's "Recess.” Leslie has mastered over 100 albums in his personal studio and is equally at home in a large commercial facility or in an artist's home studio. Recent projects include recording Hiroshima's latest release "Obon" for Heads Up International, mixing music for the Ming Tsai TV show "Simply Ming" and mastering "Love's Magic" and John Adorney's "Trees of Gold" for Eversound Records. Leslie is also consulting in the capacity of CTO for the innovative music software company Audio Impressions, Inc. After spending over twenty years in recording studios, Leslie knows how they work best. He has designed systems to fit a wide variety of needs from commercial music and post facilities to project and artist studios."

 
KATHY PRYZGODA (Lighting Designer) has been designing lighting for the past 20 years. Her diverse background included design for Architecture, Theatre and Event Lighting, and Television. She has designed for such companies as Long Beach Opera, Los Angeles Classical Ballet, Jazz Tap Ensemble to name a few. Currently, Pryzgoda is in her forth Season with the Los Angeles Philharmonic as Lighting Director for the Hollywood Bowl. Kathy has received several awards in Lighting Design including a Drama-logue Award in 1991 for outstanding achievement in Theater. In 1992, Kathy Pryzgoda began designing for Television. She became lighting Designer/Director for Channel One News., designing for an educational new program that broadcast to 8 million students yearly. Kathy received three BDA International Gold Awards for her work with Channel One News. In 2000, Kathy created the new lighting “look” for Peter Jennings with World News Tonight on ABC. In 2001, she oversaw CNNOs American Morning with Paula Zahn as the Production Design Consultant. Kathy continues to design for ABC News in Los Angeles and has recently worked with Barbara Walters on 20/20. Beyond the news, Kathy designed the series, “Tellir Stories with Tomie” for the Jim Henson Company and recently collaborated with Classic Media/Jim Henson Productions on “Pat the Bunny.”
 

GAYLE LEONARD-HOOKS (Producer) has been producing dance, music, and theater for more than 10 years.  Her producing credits include the off-Broadway hits Just In Time, Things Ain't What They Used To Be, and concerts with Jazz Tap Ensemble, Danza Floricanto/USA, JazzAntiqua Dance & Music Ensemble, Freda Payne, Terry Steele, and Sheree Brown.  Leonard-Hooks is managing partner of The Lucas Group, LLC /Lucas LaFrance Associates a talent management, booking, public relations, and marketing firm, based in Los Angeles, California representing choreographers, dancers, dance companies,  jazz musicians, and vocalists, nationally and internationally.
